OBITUARY MR, ARTHUR NORMAN FREEBAIRN.

As announced in last issue, the death occurred on Monday morning in Grenfell Hospital of Mr. Arthur Norman Freebairn, of Greenethorpe, his sudden passing coming as a great shock to his family, and a large circle of friends in the district and surrounding towns; — he had not known a serious illness during his long and active life, and was always jolly, and -of a merry disposition.

The late Mr. Freebairn was born at Snowtown (South Australia), and was one of a number who came to landra in 1902 to share farm, and who made good, subsequently buying their own properties; he purchased one of the Brundah blocks, where he made his home and resided until recently when the family went into Greenethorpe to live, the boys managing the property.

Deceased occupied many positions on public bodies in Grenfell and Greenethorpe district, being' an Elder of the Presbyterian Church, taking a great interest m the worn of the church- at Brundah. One of his many activities was in connection with the Farmers and Settlers' Association, of which he was a very active member; the show committees at Grenfell and Greenethorpe had his help, and the many social functions in his own district found him giving a helping hand, and the district is the poorer by his passing.

The late Mr. Freebairn married Miss Fowler, of Forbes, who sur vives him, as well as three sons, Norman, Max and Gavin, and daugh ters May (Mrs. Horton, Cootamun dral), and Hazel (Mrs. Devenish Meares, Darlinghurst).

Two brothers, Mr. James Freebairn (Parkes). and Mr. William Freebairn (Quorn, S.A.), and two sisters (Mrs. S. Freeman, and Mrs. Bell Hall, S.A.) also survive him.

There was a very large attend ance at the funeral yesterday af ternoon, Rev. H, Dunn taking the serviccs at St. Andrew's Presbyter ian Church and at the cemetery.

The Masonic service was read by V. Wor. Bro. H. J. Rabbets.

Very many wreaths were for warded.
